R Madhavan’s son Vedaant Madhavan wins gold medal at Danish Open swimming

R Madhavan is ‘overwhelmed and humbled’ after his son Vedaant Madhavan won gold at the Danish Open swimming meet in Copenhagen, Denmark. He took to Instagram to share a video of Vedaant being announced as the winner. Vedaant won the 800m men’s freestyle swimming event with a time of 8:17:28. Vedaant had previously won a silver medal in another category at the same meet.

In the video, Vedaant is seen shaking hands with silver medalist Alexander L Bjorn and bronze medalist Frederik Lindholm. After receiving the medal, he also bowed his head and folded his hands.

R Madhavan captioned his post after sharing the video, “Gold… .. With all your blessings and God’s greatest, the winning street continues. Today it’s a Gold IN 800m for @vedaantmadhavan. Overwhelmed and humbled. Thank you Coach @bacpradeep sir @swimmingfederation .in @ansadxb and the entire team. “

Shilpa Shirodkar responded to the post by saying, “Absolutely amazing Maddy, a proud moment for all of us. Congratulations my dear @vedaantmadhavan sending u loads of love and blessings my dear…” Sikandar Kher penned, “Superb !!! Jai Hind. ” Vedaant said, “Thank you so much for all the wishes.”

Dia Mirza posted a video clip to her Instagram Stories. She wrote, “Wohooooo Vedant @vedantmadhavan (raised hands, tiger, national flag emojis). So proud !!! Congratulations @ msaru15 @actormaddy.”

R Madhavan recently shared a post following Vedaant’s silver medal win at the same meet. R Madhavan’s 16-year-old son finished second in the men’s 1500m freestyle event with a time of 15.57.86.

The actor thanked his son’s coach Pradeep Kumar and the Swimming Federation of India for their support in an Instagram post featuring a video clip from the ceremony. “@vedaantmadhavan wins Silver for India at the Danish Open in Copenhagen. Thank you so much Pradeep sir, #swimmingfederationofindia, and #ansadxb for all your efforts. We are so proud,” he wrote in the caption of the post. Vedaant had previously won a bronze medal at the Latvia Open in March 2021, as well as seven medals at the Junior National Aquatic Championships last year (four silver and three bronze).
